Lion club members are busy preparing for the return of not one, but two major events on Manitoulin Island.
The Southeast Manitoulin Lions are prepping to bring back Summerfest with council passing a motion that the municipality will provide the Manitowaning arena and grounds at no cost to club for the celebrations, which will take place in July.
The Little Current Lions are also laying the groundwork for the return of Haweater Weekend, its premier event held on the August long weekend in Little Current.
Plans are at the preliminary stage and both clubs say any organizations or groups who want to take part of volunteers are more than welcome.
