Man charged with impersonating an officer

Greater Sudbury Police has arrested a Lively man and charged him with impersonating an officer.

Communication coordinator Kaitlyn Dunn says their office received several complaints about people being stopped on local roadways by a man driving a replica police vehicle with flashing lights activated.

As part of the ongoing investigation, she says officers executed a warrant at a residence on David Street and seized two Dodge Charger vehicles believed to have been used in the commission of the offences.

A 50-year-old man was also arrested and charged for allegedly impersonating an officer.

She says the investigation is ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to call police adding everyone has the right to ask the police for identification.
