Seeking local residences and jobs for Ukraine refugees – Manitoulin, North Shore, Northern Ontario

A Toronto-based woman who owns a motel on Manitoulin Island is looking for assistance in finding residences and jobs for Ukrainians coming to Canada across the North.

Vera Kuminov was born and raised in Crimea emigrating to Israel, then Canada, but knows Ukraine well and is reaching out to help Ukrainians who are just starting to arrive in the country.

She owns a motel on Manitoulin Island and has already found residences and jobs for four people but wants to do more.

Kuminov says the first step is to find them homes and jobs since they want to work and are allowed to under the visas.

Kuminov is asking anyone who can help to contact her.
