Election planned for Island Legion

A Manitoulin Island Legion branch is planning an election after a two-year postponement due to the pandemic.

The present executive’s terms of Branch 177 in Little Current were up in June of 2020, but with the pandemic, they continued to hold those positions.

However, the president and secretary-treasurer have indicated they do not wish to run again, so a general meeting will be held on Thursday, April 14th at 7 pm at the Legion Hall.

As part of the meeting, nominations will be held to fill executive positions for the 2022 to 2024 terms of office.

The Legion must fill the positions, or it will have to close its doors for legal reasons.

If all are filled, the installation will take place in mid-May.
