An Elliot Lake school held its first school assembly in almost two years with a focus on autism.
Andrew Chi, the principal of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School says students gathered last Friday to view an Autism awareness video and witnessed an Autism presentation by some Grade 5/6 students.
He says students were also encouraged to wear blue and share special Autism Awareness cookies made by the Gathercole/Lamoureux family for students and staff.
Chi says students also drew pictures and talked about autism with their peers and teachers throughout the week.
