Students participate in apprenticeship training at Collège Boréal

A trio of high school students has taken full advantage of apprenticeship training from a local college.

CSC Nouvelon communication director Paul de la Riva says Christian Synnett, a student at ESC Trillium in Chapleau had the opportunity to join fellow students from ÉSC Champlain from Chelmsford in the program offered by College Boreal.

He says the three took Level 1 of the credited dual recognition Electrician Construction and Maintenance Program offered at the college.

He adds the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program allows students to complete apprenticeship training while pursuing high school studies and in this case, allowed them to complete the first part of the theoretical training necessary to practice the profession of electrician.
