The City of Elliot Lake and its municipal partners have completed a report to highlight efficiencies in four key areas.
Economic Development Manager Steve Antunes says the city, Blind River, Spanish, the Township of Sables-Spanish Rivers, and the Municipality of Huron Shores received a Municipal Modernization Grant in June of 2021 to complete the study.
He says the grant was provided to fund a study and report that would highlight increases in the efficiency and effectiveness of services keying in on Information Technology, Building and By-Law and Landfills (solid waste and collection).
Antunes says staff from all five municipalities worked with the consulting firm, Performance Concept, to
go through details of each municipality’s operations and find efficiencies to share operational loads.
He says the communities will now meet and discuss how to build on those efficiencies.
