Until the end of March, a dozen grade 9 to 12 students studying visual arts at École secondaire catholique Jeunesse-Nord in Blind River will benefit from the artistic expertise of a notable artist.
French Catholic school board communication director Paul de la Riva says through a virtual program made possible from an Ontario Arts Council grant, artist Kariane Lachance will share her knowledge and love for the arts with the students.
He says Lachance is a multidisciplinary artist who has worked in the professional theater field since 2012 and is a graduate of the theatre and visual arts program from the University of Ottawa.
De la Riva adds students will work on a digital portfolio, take photos and write a resume, which will assist them in pursuing their studies in visual arts at a post-secondary institution.
