Cameco’s nuclear fuel refinery near Blind River has acquired its licence renewal.
Last week, the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission announced its decision to renew the Class IB nuclear fuel facility licence held by Cameco for its Blind River operation.
The licencing allows the company to continue producing uranium trioxide, commonly called UO3, from uranium ore concentrates shipped into the facility.
The renewal follows virtual public hearings held last fall and is valid until February 28th, 2032.
