Manitoulin OPP responds to break and enter
Manitoulin OPP has arrested a man following a break and enter in Espanola.
Constable Tessa Kasch says last Friday afternoon OPP officers investigated a break and enter on Mead Boulevard in Espanola.
She says the complainant provided a description of the individual who had allegedly entered a shed and stole various items, then fled in a taxi from the property.
Kasch says officers located the taxi and arrested the individual.
She adds a 22-year-old man from Spanish has been charged with break & enter, possession of stolen property and possession of illegal drugs and is to appear in court at a later date.
Person charged after altercation at retail store
An Elliot Lake woman is facing numerous charges following an altercation at a store in Elliot Lake.
East Algoma OPP Constable Phil Young says on Saturday morning, a complainant reported a woman had allegedly gone through the self-checkout but failed to pay for numerous items.
He says a store employee followed the woman to her vehicle advising her that some items had not been paid for. The accused allegedly assaulted the employee and fled the scene.
Young says the 35-year-old has been charged with robbery with violence, theft, five counts of breach and possession of an illegal substance.
He says the woman appeared in Elliot Lake court and is to appear in court at a later date.
