An Elliot Lake man is hoping to exceed his last fundraising total for the annual Espanola Snowarama for Easter Seals Kids.
Leo Deveau says he entered his first Snowarama four years ago to win a hat, but after meeting the Easter Seals Ambassadors, was ashamed he would be so selfish.
He says the ambassadors, children with physical disabilities opened his eyes to the importance of helping them fund equipment, education, even the joy of camping.
To that end, he raised $3,200 two years ago, but due to COVID restrictions, could not participate last year.
However, he says this year he wants to raise at least $4,000.
He is at No Frills grocery store throughout the day until February 11th to collect pledges.

Espanola-North Shore Snowarama is a go for Sunday, February 13th with COVID protocols in place.
