The Ontario College of University Faculty Association is disappointed the Superior Court of Justice has denied the Ontario Auditor General’s request for documents that Laurentian University claims are privileged.
Association president, Sue Wurtele says Laurentian’s insolvency as part of the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act process has devastated the community and raised concerns at other universities.
She says it is vital that Laurentian University show accountability and release the documents to the Auditor General, adding they need to understand what happened to ensure it does not happen with another university.
Wurtele says they support the Auditor General to appeal the decision following the ruling denying the Speaker’s warrant, which demanded the release of documents by February 1st.
