Ontario sees highest number of COVID-19 hospitalizations

Ontario is reporting its highest number of people in intensive care with COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.

80 more patients were admitted to the ICU over the past 24 hours bringing the total to 465.

There are 3,220 people in the hospital with the virus, however, new data shows 46 per cent of them were admitted for other reasons but tested positive for the virus.

7,951 new cases were reported on Tuesday but experts continue to caution the real number of cases is much higher with the exact amount not clear because the majority of Ontario’s population does not have access to PCR testing.
