The Espanola Elks is hosting a membership drive to keep their hall open.
Exalted Ruler Wanda Ouimette says the club is in dire straits due to COVID-19 and a lack of volunteers.
She says purchasing a membership can help offset the costs of keeping the hall open and anyone who signs up can decide how much they wish to be involved as volunteers.
Ouimette adds the support of the community over the last year has allowed them to continue to operate, but if they do not receive support, they will have to consider closing.
She says the Elks has been a part of Espanola for 70 years leading the way in lending medical equipment to those in need and the annual Hamper Fund which has provided thousands of families with food baskets over the last 44 years.

Memberships are $54 per year for those under 65, $51 for those 65 years of age or older.
