The battle to have Laurentian University release information related to its insolvency is still being fought by the institution’s lawyers.
A Speaker’s warrant issued by the Ontario Legislature is focused on getting privileged information to the auditor general about the process.
However, Laurentian’s legal counsel says it will ask the court to define what is privileged and what isn’t to protect their client from the warrant demanding personal emails, correspondence, and legal details of the insolvency.
There could be a ruling by early February and the lawyers continue to resist the warrant.
