The Rainbow District School Board has released its annual report for the 2020-21 school year.
Outgoing board chair, Doreen Dewar, accepted the report as one of her last duties before the new chair take over in 2022.
She says all school boards are required to produce an Annual Report in accordance with The Education Act providing an overview of key activities undertaken to address its strategic priorities during the 2020-2021 school year, as well as the budget.
Dewar says there has been challenges with the pandemic, but the board of trustees remains focused on priorities, including health and safety first, additional supports for mental health and developing positive relationships between teacher and student, staff and administration, parents and schools.
She adds whether students were learning in person or remotely, staff worked diligently to support well-being and achievement to enable students to reach their full potential while meeting the expectations of the curriculum.”
