Big honour for Manitoulin's Shirley Cheechoo

It’s a big honour for film-maker and visual artist Shirley Cheechoo of Manitoulin.  The celebrated actress will become Brock University’s next chancellor.  The ceremony is this fall at the St. Catharines school.  Cheechoo is the first ever First Nation person named as chancellor at Brock as well as the first woman to hold the title.  Becoming chancellor was not something Cheechoo was looking for.  Someone nominated her for the position and after looking at her credentials, Brock named her its next chancellor.
