Manitoulin Health Centre activates COVID-19 vaccination policy for visitors/care partners

As a result of surging COVID-19 cases in the region, the Manitoulin Health Centre will be rolling out a mandatory vaccination policy for designated care partners and visitors to both their sites.

Co-CEO Paula Fields says to ensure the protection and safety of patients and employees, effective December 6th, the mandatory vaccination policy will affect those visiting patients and their essential caregivers.

She adds proof of vaccination will be required at both sites in Little Current and Mindemoya.

Co-CEO Tim Vine adds people attending the hospital for medical reasons will not be asked for their vaccination status unless it is relevant to their care.

He also note exemptions may be made for those not eligible for vaccination in the case of end-of-life and persons requiring assistance adding the policy does not apply to clergy and any traditional supports.
