Thieves are trying different ways to con Elliot Lake residents from their cash. East Algoma OPP have received several complaints about money scams carried out over the phone. Police say the calls were from different groups but the good news is no one got hit. OPP say if you get a call saying you`ve won something but need to send money to collect the prize or give out personal information, don`t because it`s a scam.
