Investigation continues into fire in Elliot Lake

The Elliot Lake Fire Department in partnership with the Ontario Fire Marshall’s office and OPP is continuing its investigation into a vacant school building.

Fire Chief John Thomas says last Friday at around 2 pm, his office received a call about the fire at a vacant building on Lisbon Road.

The building is the former Notre Dame du Bois Joli, which also served the community for a time as College Boreal.

He says crews were able to get the fire under control, but heavy damage was done to the building.
