Author Sarah Lashbrook in Espanola for book signing

Author Sarah Lashbrook will be back in her hometown this weekend for a book signing.

Sarah began her writing career when she won a National broadcasting scholarship from Global Television in 1999.

Starting out in Journalism, Sarah furthered her education with a post-grad course in Writing, Directing, and Producing, for Television, specializing in Creative Writing.

Years later, she published her first fiction novel Where the Stream and Creek Collide, that is currently being made into a feature film.

She has written works in the media both print and air, as well as magazines, novels and short stories, film, and television.

Two of her feature screenplays were accepted into the Female Eye Film Festival Good To Go Program, as well as one winning the award for Best Fresh Voice in 2014.

Lashbrook just completed her first short film, Dearly Not So Departed, as both writer and director.

Her aspirations are to write a number of novels and films where the main character has some sort of disability or ethical struggle. These novels will not act as a service piece for those looking for more education but rather act as a vessel for placing strong mentally or physically disabled characters into common fictional storylines.

She recently released her second book Evanesce.

Lashbrook will be at the Espanola Mall Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm to sign copies of her latest book, which are priced at $25 a copy.
