Person arrested again for multiple offences

East Algoma OPP has arrested an Elliot Lake man for the second time this week.

OPP Constable Phil Young says on Tuesday morning, officers were called to a break and enter at a residence on Farrell Crescent in Elliot Lake.

He says the complainant reported that a known neighbour had broken into their residence and was currently inside with a rock in hand.

He says officers met the person on the street who admitted to entering the complainant’s residence.

Young says earlier that morning, the same person was harassing and threatening another complainant in a separate occurrence where they had threatened to hit them in the head with a hammer and was subsequently charged with assault with a weapon.

Young adds, as a result, the 44-year-old is facing additional charges of break and enter, criminal harassment, two counts of uttering threats and mischief.
