Espanola splash pad project goes out to bid

Espanola council has decided to put the building of a new splash pad out to bid.

The cost of the project is estimated at $368,540 plus annual operating costs of $34,600.

The initial design plan would include a pad nearly 2,500 square feet in size with three play zones for toddlers, families, and pre-teens.

Councillor Sandra Hayden, who sits on the committee with community members, says she is pleased the council has given the go-ahead on the project.
