Espanola students recognized the importance of caring for one of their maintenance staff this week.
Communication director Paul de la Riva says on Monday, students and staff at École secondaire catholique La Renaissance in Espanola underlined Trigeminal Neuralgia Awareness Day in support of people with this disorder, which can cause pain on the side of the face.
He says although few people are aware of this condition, the La Renaissance school community understands the condition since their beloved janitor Marcel Jalbert suffers from it.
De la Riva adds in recognition of this day and in support of a friend and colleague, students and staff wore teal-coloured ribbons or clothing.
