Investigation underway in mining deaths

First Nickel in Sudbury is working with the Ministry of Labour to determine how two contractors at the Lockerby Mine died.  The 49 and 34 year olds worked for Taurus Drilling.  What’s known is there was a seismic event very early Tuesday morning which was followed by a collapse of ground at the mine.  The president and chief executive officer of First Nickel says the company is committed to a full and thorough investigation.  Tuesday’s accident raises the number of mining deaths in Sudbury to six in less three years.
