The Scotia Bank is closing its branch in the Town of Spanish next year.
Customers received notification of the impending closure by mail and a town meeting was held Wednesday evening to discuss the transition with customers.
A reduction in clients and cost savings were given as the main reasons for the closure.
The branch will relocate services to its main location in Elliot Lake as of April 12, 2022.

The Spanish branch opened 66 years ago to meet the demands of the mining boom in Elliot Lake and area.
Management says customers will continue to receive services through the Elliot Lake location and they are on hand to assist any individuals with their banking needs.
