Espanola Legion poster, essay and poem contest underway

The Royal Canadian Legion’s annual poster, essay and poetry contests are now underway including Espanola.

Espanola chair Laura MacPherson says she has been in contact with all the area schools this week to have students participate in the annual contest, which is open to all grades.

She says fostering remembrance is a part of Canadian school children honouring Canada’s Veterans through creative art and writing and help in perpetuating Remembrance.

Grade 1 to 3 can enter the poster category with the older grades, up to and including Grade 12, entering any of three categories.

Junior: Grades 4, 5, 6

Primary: Grades 1, 2, 3 (Poster Contest only)

The Poster Contest is divided into two categories: colour and black and white. The Literary Contest is divided into two categories: essay and poem.
