Provincial funding will keep 64 people working in Algoma-Manitoulin

The Provincial Government announced the awarding of 4.3 million in funding for seven projects that will create and sustain 64 jobs in Algoma- Manitoulin.  Some of the funding is going to Four Manitoulin area First Nations who are receiving a total of $1 Million to build a hotel and conference center, creating 12 jobs in Little Current.  The Town of Gore Bay is receiving $45,000 to complete upgrades to its Wharf Center, including eight new studio spaces, creating 10 jobs.  The Municipality of Killarney is receiving $500,000 to upgrade its wharf facility and support the expansion of a fish plant and restaurant, retaining 20 jobs.
