Direct Support Professional Week

It’s Direct Support Professional Week and a local non-profit is asking the public to acknowledge the hard work of caregivers, health professionals and others who provide supports directly to those with disabilities.

Shelagh Dufour, the Team Lead of Christian Horizons in Blind River, a non-profit organization in developmental services extends a thank you to all those who have and continue to help others who face unique challenges.

She adds the organization helps people experiencing disabilities to accomplish their goals and thrive in communities where they are valued and respected.

She says, “At Christian Horizons our teams do some simply amazing things with the people we support.  They work hard every day at Valuing People, Fostering Belonging, Serving others and Respecting gifts.  We officially celebrate all they do on this week annually.”
