Elliot Lake begins 60th anniversary celebrations

For long-time Elliot Lakers, the weekend was a throwback to the town`s former glory as a mining community.  Elliot Lake officially launched its 60th anniversary celebration over the weekend with a host of activities. They included a parade highlighting different eras of the community including a mining float by Denison Mines.  Another feature was the past winners of the Miss Elliot Lake Pageants gathered on a float.  The celebrations continues this Saturday with a jack-leg drilling contest and a street dance.  Before that it`s the Canada Day Beach Party July 1st at Spruce Beach.
