The Nairn Centre area Quad Run is a big success. Nearly $1,300 was raised for the Heart and Stroke Foundation easily surpassing last year`s total of just more than $500. This was the eighth year for the fundraiser and attracted 35 participants. The event is held in memory of Joel Austin of Nairn Centre who would have celebrated his 55th birthday this year. Austin died of a heart attack. With the weekend results, the Quad Run is approaching the $10,000 mark for Heart and Stroke.
