Charges laid in connection to Highway 144 collision

The Sudbury OPP has laid charges on the driver involved in a single-vehicle crash on Wednesday morning on Highway 144 in Greater Sudbury.

OPP Constable Robert Lewis says the driver and passenger were treated for their injuries.

He says the investigation revealed the vehicle had been stolen from the Hamilton area.

Lewis adds it was travelling north in a dangerous manner, according to various witnesses who came forward after the police requested help from the public.

He says a 24-year-old man from Grimsby was arrested and charged with auto theft, possession of stolen property, and dangerous operation of a vehicle, and is to appear in Sudbury court on December 1st.

No charges were laid against the passenger.
