2021_08_25 R.I.P. Charlie Watts

What a sad day in the world of Rock N Roll. Charlie Watts, the drummer for The Rolling Stones, has passed away.

It’s impossible to quantify his legacy. It really is. But I think the best way is to show the love and support he’s getting from the music industry.

First off, here’s what Keith Richards said about him years ago, “Now don’t tell Mick I said this but Charlie is the most talented member of this group. The rest of us, Mick, Ron, myself; we are interchangeable. Any poor bugger could do what we do but NOBODY could do what Charlie does. I think sometimes how that poor guy, immensely talented, got stuck with the likes of us. He is The Rolling Stones and The Rolling Stones is Charlie F——— Watts!. He’s the reason we all kept coming back. After all the fights, the breakups, the solo gigs, rehabs, nonsense and shenanigans. We all wanted to be with Charlie. The guy hasn’t missed a day of work in over 50 years. What an ass kisser”

Sir Elton John remembering him:

Pearl Jam talking about how many people he inspired:

And the tributes just keep coming. He was truly one of a kind.

Rest in peace, Charlie Watts.
