The Elliot Lake Fire Department was called out to a house fire yesterday which caused heavy damage but no injuries.
Fire Chief John Thomas says just before 8 am, the department received a call about a fire at a row house complex on Farrell Crescent.
He adds upon arrival, the fire department crew reported seeing heavy smoke but was able to get the fire under control quickly.
Thomas says the fire was contained to the one unit, with heavy damage in the kitchen area.
He adds the fire was accidental and the estimated damage was $200,000.
