The Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing riding now has a candidate running for the Green Party.
Stephen Zimmermann hails from Laird Township west of Blind River.
A high school teacher, husband and a father of three grown children, he has lived in Algoma for 20 years.
He says this was not the right time to call an election, but his decision to run is based on what is best for the country

He adds the Green Party has a clear, comprehensive plan to move forward on issues such as greening the economy and enhancing democracy.
Other candidates running in the riding include incumbent NDPer Carol Hughes, Duke Peltier for the Liberals and John Sagman for the Conservatives.
