Espanola council delving into Splash Pad project

The idea of having a splash pad in Espanola was brought to council before the pandemic hit and it was put aside during the medical crisis.

However, the Splash Pad Committee met in early July to review size and design options for a possible splash park in town.

Councillor Sandra Hayden says both she and Councillor Ray Dufour are sitting on the committee, which is also made up of citizens at large and public works staff.

Public Works has also carried out a review of all municipal vacant parkland to facilitate a potential site for the new attraction.

The department is also continuing its research to support and inform the Splash Pad Committee of its findings, which will eventually be presented to the entire council.
