University of Sudbury transitioning in providing Francophone educational options

The University of Sudbury is in the process of transitioning to a new mandate of becoming the leading Francophone university in Northern Ontario.

University president, Dr. Serge Miville says last week’s federal government announcement of $121 million dollars recognizes Francophone minority rights including education.

He adds it is great news for the university and for the future of Francophone communities as well as being an investment that has the potential to transform the student experience in French in Northern Ontario.

Miville also thanks the Francophone community for the confidence they have shown in the university to make it the prime destination for Francophone post-secondary university education in the Greater Sudbury region.
