Wednesday night’s storm has led to several communities including Blind River and Elliot Lake being without power for over 24 hours.
That left some 6,000 Hydro One customers without power.
As of this morning, Hydro One’s Storm Centre shows that major communities have for the most part had their power restored.
A small number of customers just outside of Elliot Lake and in the Algoma Mills area are still waiting for the lights to come back on.
Hydro One estimates the power will not be restored in those areas until early this afternoon.
The storm led to the cancellation of several meetings and the closure of businesses in the two communities and surrounding areas.
