Public Health keeping a close eye on the numbers

Public Health Sudbury & Districts is keeping a close eye on COVID-19 cases, more so since most are of the Delta variant.
According to the agency, of the 20 new cases in our service area, 11 were a close contact of confirmed case, one was travel-related, one unknown source, and one case is currently under investigation.
Fifteen cases reported this week reside in Manitoulin District, and five in Greater Sudbury with none in the Sudbury District.
Public Health also identified 56 people as having had high-risk close contact with a case of COVID-19.
The agency also continues to work with Wiikwemkoong where an outbreak was declared late last week.
According to its health official, there are eight positive cases and one resolved case on the territory as of yesterday afternoon.
Both agencies continue to closely monitor the situation.
