Road reconstruction could mean slowdowns on Highway 17

If you are travelling between Webbwood and Massey for the next little while, you may want to consider giving yourself some extra drive-time.

The Township of Sables-Spanish Rivers staff confirms that Highway 17, which runs through Webbwood and Massey, is undergoing resurfacing and the installation of new curbs.

The section of the Trans-Canada between both communities is also being resurfaced, so there are sections where motorists can expect to be stopped.

There is also replacement of a culvert just west of Massey where there is also a slowdown.

Expect delays up to 20 minutes.

A long stretch of Highway 17 from Highway 553 Imperial Street in Massey easterly to 3.5 kilometres west of Highway 6 is under reconstruction including through the community of Webbwood.

Possible single lane closures Monday to Friday sunrise to sunset. Advisory speed reduction to 70 kilometres per hour for construction zones. There are no reduced height restrictions. There is a 3.75 metre lane width at Culvert site in Salter Township for 200 metres long.
