No vaccinations required for Sudbury colleges or Laurentian

Cambrian College and Collège Boréal in Greater Sudbury will not be requiring people to get vaccinated against COVID-19 if they enter or live on campus.

Cambrian president Bill Best says Cambrian will continue to follow government and public health guidelines and strongly encourage students and staff to review vaccination options that are available, and to receive their vaccine as soon as they’re able to.

He adds the college in partnership with the health unit will be offering vaccination clinics on campus in September.

The situation will be similar at Collège Boréal.

Sudbury’s Laurentian University announced last month that students living on campus will not be required to have vaccinations either.

The Ministry of Colleges and Universities has told the institutions to have plans for how learning will continue in the event of COVID-19 outbreaks and that all universities and colleges will still have to follow all public health and workplace safety rules, including requiring masks indoors.
