An employer is recognizing the fundraising efforts of an Espanola woman to fight cancer.
Lisa Gamelin works for the Canada Revenue Agency, and the tax collector is giving her certificate and commendation for her work. Gamelin will receive the accolades at a special ceremony this week in St. Catharines.
Gamelin developed ovarian cancer three years ago and after her treatment she created a special walk in the community to raise money. That event, known as Teal for Toes, will be held again in September.
