Health changes could bring more doctors north

Thanks to healthcare changes, Northeastern Ontario might start getting more doctors.  The area is now zoned a high-needs physician region thanks to work carried out by the North East Local Health Integration Network.  This means a doctor looking to practice under the umbrella of a family health network or organizations has to work in a high needs area.  The LHIN says getting the designation is the key to future physician recruitment for the northeast.  About 12 percent of the population in Northeastern Ontario doesn`t have a family doctor.
