OPP investigating house fire in Huron Shores

A house fire on Ansonia Road in Huron Shores, north of Thessalon, is being investigated by East Algoma OPP.

Provincial Police, the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit and the Huron Shores Fire Department found the home fully engulfed in flames when they arrived on the scene after midnight Saturday.

Police determined there was no one in the residence at the time of the fire. The investigation is still ongoing.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the East Algoma OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit information online at www.p3tips, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2000.

The OPP also says officers observed a person on the property at the time of the fire who was in breach of domestic-related conditions.

As a result, a 60-year-old from the Municipality of Huron Shores was charged with Failure to Comply with Release Order.

The accused was remanded into custody after a video bail appearance Saturday.
