An Elliot Lake family is receiving some valuable life lessons and money-making skills after the children told mom they wanted to help people who are homeless.
Patty Gill says her granddaughters Addison, Gemma and Amelia wanted to have a lemonade stand and it was Gemma’s idea to donate the money to the women’s shelter in Elliot Lake because she sees the homeless and wanted to help.
She says they’ve already donated over $300 and are hoping to donate to the men’s shelter and the food bank as well.
She adds the kids know about hardship and are still amazing children who simply want to help others.
Gill thanks everyone who has supported the girls’ initiative so far and the stand will continue to be set up throughout various weekends during the summer at 97 Esten Drive South.
