An armed standoff is over at Canadian Tire in Timmins. However it one way, it never happened. It turns out that after a man broke into the store around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, he eluded an OPP tactical squad and disappeared. Police believe the man escaped just before they contained the building. What’s more the suspect got away with firearms sold at the store but it’s not known how many. The thief remains at large.
