Spray program underway by Ontario government

Now that summer is here, the Ontario Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources, and Forestry is looking for public input on spraying herbicide in forested areas.

Management Forester Bob Robinson is inviting the public to inspect the approved aerial herbicide project.

He says selected stands on the Spanish Forest will be sprayed with herbicide to control competing vegetation, starting on or about August 1st.

To facilitate inspections, he says information can be obtained electronically online.

Visit the Natural Resources Information Portal https://nrip.mnr.gov.on.ca/s/fmp-online.

For more information, contact Robinson at 705-618-4832 or [email protected].  An alternate to the government contact is Mike Forrest, Silviculture Manager, EACOM Timber Corp. at 705-267-3339, x 504.
