Habitat for Humanity wants Espanola residents to host what it calls Big Night In events. These are events like potluck dinners or black-tie evenings designed to raise money for the home Habitat wants to build in town. The event can have any theme as long as it can raise money and is registered with Habitat. The registry is necessary because Habitat needs to be able to send tax receipts to people who donate. For information, e-mail Katharine.emrich.com            At the moment, town council has blocked Habitat from building a semi-detached home and the group might appeal the decision to the Ontario Municipal Board.
