Operation Freeze will see Ontario Provincial Police officers including Manitoulin, East Algoma and Sudbury officers on the lookout in communities for youth demonstrating acts of kindness and exhibiting positive behaviour.
Through a partnership with Circle K Convenience Stores, OPP officers will be handing out “Positive Tickets” for actions such as: doing a good deed, being kind to others, participating in community activities, demonstrating community pride and more to establish a rapport with kids in their patrol area.
The Circle K in Espanola has been an active partner of this program for the last few years but had to discontinue its student launch due to COVID-19.
Operation Freeze provides law enforcement officials with an additional tool to foster strong relationships with the youth they serve in their communities.
