Speed and booze are believed to be behind a fatal motor vehicle collision in Mattawa. OPP say the driver failed to negotiate a sharp curve on a town street and hit a building. The impact seriously injured a passenger who later died in hospital. The driver and another passenger received minor injuries. The victim’s name is not being released until next of kin are notified. Police are continuing their investigation. The fatal accident took place around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
